TIO #63 - Aspect of Trees

Well, here we are with the last tag challenge of this year... I am giving you till the first Wednesday of the new year (5thJanuary) to take up this challenge. I have been making this beaded Tree of  Life pendent and so have printed a background to compliment it... It is made of silver wire and amazonite chips. I made a tag with some Sir Tim ideaology paper and Judykins stamps, particularly winter tree. The distress inks are forest moss and brushed corduroy.

So, set off dreaming a tag on some aspect of trees, from christmas trees to whatever... please use at least one real stamp, and thanks for all your support this year.....enjoy!!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

TIO #62 - Golden Haze

Hi... sorry I am a bit late. The tag was done but not uploaded and I went shopping and lunching with my daughter... shame she is not on top form, but great we get to have girlie times together - totally invaluable!!! Best chrimble pressie ever,,,

Anyway, enough rambling and on to the tag for this week. You all did super stuff last time and I am hoping you can squeeze me another dream, this time to be golden... so make a tag in a golden theme, with perhaps a couple of accent colours... I used Sir Tim's wild honey and brushed corduroy, with black ink and creamy white/gold starflake... that is made from friendly plastic. The frill is some of Sir Tim's music tape, and I used the same stamp as last week, as you all said you liked it so much... left more of it for you to see this time. Topped it all off with gold chain, a few beads and a tiny bell. Please use at least one real stamp and ENJOY!!!!

TIO #61 - Sir Tim Inspired Embellishment

Good afternoon... well, are you being inspired?? I certainly am, and wish I had started to have a go from the beginning, but just had too much else to do... I am sure you don't need me to explain that I am talking about Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas. !!! This link is up to date as of now... day 8. So the TIO challenge this week is to create a Chrismas tag, with at least one really truly stamp, but adorned with Tim Holtzian influenced embellishment(s)...

I had a go with the Christine Hellmuth sticky backed canvas and the colour washes, plus Glitz Spritz from Jill, at the Stampman.. The flowers are from a couple of sheets by Elusive Images... The stamp is a Christmas collage called Holiday Pear. I suppose I could have added some sparkle... well I might just go and do that now...

So there you have it... I am realy hoping you all find time to join in and have a go... ENJOY!!!

TIO #60 - Time Flying for Christmas

Here we are with another landmark TIO...that is the 60th!! I do want it to continue, but we have dwindled such a lot recently... my fault perhaps for being poorly then on holiday but what do YOU think, dear dreamers???

On a more positive note, the winner of the East competition was Neet of Hickorydorums, so well done and look out for the prize of that wonderful plate designed by our friend Jo.

I was very peased with the mix of stamps on this tag... 2 from Sir Tim and one from PaperArtsy, which was actually a freebie,  a great one to get given.... and so the theme is about the time flying quickly towards Christmas... ie Christmas with the TIO twist!!!  Please include at least one stamp and ENJOY...

Finally, I have managed to make my entry for Jo's wonderful challenge - The East. I used Asian set 1 from A Stamp in the Hand, plus a couple of others. I always wonder what this lovely lady is thinking... I think she has been writing an haiku about the blossom.

I hope that some more of you have a go to win the fabulous plate designed by the lovely Jo...

TIO #58 - The East - continued a second week

I have decided to run this challenge for another week to give more of you an opportunity to win this FABULOUS sheet of stamps... Same rules apply so ENJOY!!

Well, here we go again, finally. It is ages since a tag appeared here, so I am DELIGHTED to have something special again for you... a lovely guest whose work I admire greatly, and I featured on the Inspirational Blog a few weeks ago... I have her to thank for the wonderful grunge paper rose I learned to do and brought here to share with you!!! So welcome to Jo of JoZart

   tada!!!!

Never one to do things by halves I have made a concertina based card with tags. The images are the two Chinese tots which are on the new"Elements of the Orient " plate that I designed for www.stampattack.co.uk. Caz, who manufactures the stamps, kindly offers the plate to whoever is selected from the challenge entries.

I've selected "the East" as the theme so it can be Japanese, Chinese or whatever it represents to you, the challengers, but let's get away from the traditional red, black and gold as a colour scheme.

I enjoy demonstrating at shows, in UK and Germany and I design stamps for Stampattack. I also teach workshops around the Merseyside area and have a special interest in background techniques and folded card structures, many of which can be shared on my blog.

How very beautiful these are, and the plate is so gorgeous... you have the opportunity to WIN it and here it is for you to drool over!!!! Thanks to Jo for getting it for us...

So, over to you lovely people and I know you will rise to Jo's challenge, but don't forget to include at least one really truly stamp and ENJOY!!!

Wow!!!! It's YOU!!!???

Hi finally!!! What a weekend.... culminating in Freddie's car breaking down on the A42 last night on our way home from seeing my poor old mum. We went as a family and so had Miranda and the boys with us. She was driving And it started to make a dreadful noise so we stopped and rang the RAC. We had SUCH a long wait for various reasons not of our making and, after making the original call at 6.03 we finally got home at 11.30!!!! They are calling me today to apologise profusely and to offer me something I hope...

But enough... Who won the blog candy in that competition you shout!!!! It was the lovely JANET from Redmosss Ramblings, chosen at random from out of the hat... You all did wonderful work, but those great stamps and the pad will be on their way to her in the week.... Now watch out for this next Wednesday for another fantastic challenge from another fabulous guest hostess.. Thanks for ALL your support.

TIO #55 - Bead-dazzle

This was a really nice one to do. I am deeply into making beads and these lovely little Lynne roses. The beads are pink, gold and white poly clay, with some gold leaf moulded in.

So, this week, I would love you to dream in beads, jewellery etc ... bedazzle us please, but don't forget one really truly stamp. Mine is printed in sepia archaeval from the luscious new set of words by Elusive Images - Artistic affirmations... you HAVE to have it!!!

Hey... a couple of bits of news that are very exciting for me - I have a ticket for the Tim Holtz craft course next year, and Crafty Individuals have agreed to sponsor a prize HERE on this very site!!! Wooo..

TIO #49 - Paper Roses...

Here is my newest plaything... grunge paper roses.

This week, I have a different challenge for you... paper roses

Whilst blog-hopping and fnding new stuff, I came across a wonderful blog called JoZart. She had made some fantastic bling using a paper rose from another great designer and blogger called Lynne Forsythe. Inspirational sites to see, so do go have a lookee!! Well, Lynne makes the most WONDERFUL paper roses and the link I have given you is to her fab tutorial... I think you should watch and learn, and try your hand ... so can you dream your tag with some special paper roses and at least one stamp ?? Go on... you know you want to!!! So ENJOY!! (with grateful thanks to Lynne and Jo)
Frankie
xx

When I first found these on JoZart's blog, I could not resist having a go for the box I was about to distress.

So I made 3 and sprayed them with Starburst Stains. I then added some ribbon, dyed to match. I used my heat gun on it to distress it too, as it shrivels a bit ... but beware, you can overdo it!!! A few beads added the finishing touch, so I have this ear-marked for a friend of mine's birthday next month...

TIO #42 - Acetate and Alcohol

Here we go with another fabulous guest challenge from  Wanda

Since last week, I have been in and out and had my knee surgery!!! Oh boy, is this difficult so I won't be long!!! More a different time... tee hee

Wanda has set a wonderful dream this week, to use acetate and alcohol in your dreams, including at least one real stamp as always... so here she is -

Hi, my name is Wanda. I live not far from the beautiful North Wales Coast, out in the hills not far from the Colwyn Bay. I love living here though it is a bit off the beaten track if you don’t drive; luckily I do. My husband and I run a boarding cattery here which keeps us very busy, especially in the season, so we find it hard to take holidays together. My love of crafts goes back to when I was just three years old and my grandmother taught me to knit, then later on to sew, using her treadle sewing machine. I spent a lot of time with her. I have crafted all my life mostly knitting, crochet, and sewing, and a little photography and drawing (badly). I discovered card-making about five or six years ago when I was home bound owing to illness. I was due to look after my (then) nine year old grand-daughter for a couple of weeks and went into my local craft shop to look for inspiration. I came home laden with an assortment of materials. I have found the crafting community to be a very generous, helpful group and I have learned so much from others. Very soon, after making quite a few ill advised purchases, I discovered rubber stamps and the rest is history. I love building up my collection of stamps. My favourite style is grungy and messy. I like putting inks down on paper and creating my own backgrounds from plain cardstock or paper. I enjoy using the brayer and then creating scenes from the backgrounds I have made.

I hope my tag inspires you and I look forward to seeing what you create with the theme “Acetate and Alcohol! The idea is that you use acetate and alcohol in your creation, although it’s not such a bad idea to have a little drink – just to help keep the creative juices flowing! You could use alcohol inks, as I have done, or an alcohol related stamp, be it a wine bottle, beer or wine glass, or a wine label. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Have fun!

Wanda

So my lovely dreamy friends, just enjoy and forgive me if I do not appear as often as possible!! I WILL publish your posts as frequently as I can... Wanda is off to a Stamp Addicts retreat this weekend, lucky girl, so she will catch up as an when!!!! ENJOY

TIO #38 Along the River - Guest Hostess Janet

There were some wonderful creations last week and I loved seeing them all. We have another guest here at TIO, as I hinted on the sidebar!!! She is a fellow member of the Rainbows forum, run by Rainbow Lady, and her name is Janet. I am sure you will love looking at her lovely blog and doing the challenge she has set us to dream this week. Her theme is "Along the River" . So here she is...

I live overlooking the Moray Firth in the North East of Scotland with my husband John on what was formerly a riding and trekking centre. We are both retired and have lived here for 10 years. Over the years we have kept a flock of sheep, horses, ducks and rare breed chickens. We also showed and bred Boxer dogs with some success.

I have always been interested in art and making things. Previously it has been knitting and sewing but now I am completely taken with photography, painting, card making and especially rubber stamping. I love making pictures and using inks and images to convey a feeling or a memory. I get most of my inspiration from the beautiful countryside around us.

My tag recalls a pleasant Sunday afternoon feeding the ducks and swans on the river. Perhaps yours might show the fish and plants in the water, the riverbank and animals, the bridges and buildings alongside the water. Come on in and dream with me - the water's fine!

So there you have it... watery, possibly peaceful (but not necessarily!!) country, town.... any interpretation of the theme, with at least one real stamp included. ENJOY!!

It's a very loose theme, so interpret it as you will, but most of all, ENJOY!!

TIO #35 - Emboss It

Thanks to Elizabeth for last week's challenge. I shall ask her to challenge us again very soon!! Sorry to be late posting today, but the garden was calling to be watered!!

This week, it is back to me again and I would like you to dream your piece in the theme of emboss it. So, you can use an embossing machine, heat emboss, with a light box etc. I have used heat embossing and my cuttlebug. The distress inks look different over the bars of music, so it was interesting to do.

Enjoy, but please remember to use at least one stamp...

TIO #34 - Guest Designer Challenge - Under the Moon's Shaddow

Another week then, and thanks all of you who joined my first challenge back crafting!!!
This time I have a treat for you, as "ElizabethR" has created the challenge and the tag. She is one of my Rainbow Friends from a long time, and here is what she has to say:

My name is Elizabeth, I am forty three and live in the seaside town of Colwyn Bay. My love of crafting goes back a long way, to a brilliant teacher at school, who enjoyed making anything and everything, and my beautiful Mum who was a printer, and also very creative. So from a very young age I've always had a stash of paper, pencils, ink and type face catalogues to play with!

I feel very honoured that the lovely Frankie asked me to be a guest designer this week, and I hope you all like my theme of "Under the moon’s shadow" I've even included a couple of horses for Fred! All I ask is that you have a moon on your tag, and as Frankie would say, use at least one stamp please. Have fun.

TIO #30 Willow Pattern Story - Guest Hostess

From our lovely Karen...
Here is my tag for this week, hope you like it??? Just a little bit about my idea....

The first thing that most people associate with the Orient is the Willow Pattern, but how many realise that it represents a beautiful love story....

....In ancient China a powerful nobleman lived in a palace with his beautiful daughter. The Palace was surrounded by gardens with fruit trees & a lovely willow. But the daughter fell in love with her father's humble clerk, against her father's wishes. The clerk was dismissed & they were forbidden to see each other. A zig-zag fence was built around the gardens so that the poor clerk could not enter. However the two lovers fled & escaped across a bridge, with her father chasing them. The lovers travelled to a distant land but the nobleman sent his men to kill them. When the Gods saw what was happening, they transformed the couple into a pair of lovebirds....

So this week I would like everyone to dream about the Willow Pattern Story.

Wow !!! Arn't I lucky to have just great crafty friends who are SO talented!! So there you have your theme and I hope you enjoy it to the full. Please make your own interpretation and use at least one REAL stamp, somewhere!! And don't forget the blog candy is still up for grabs if you enter and link through...
Thanks Karen

We invite you to dream a tag on the theme of mad march - think lambs, hares / rabbits, windy days, blossom / spring flowers, new colours etc etc... it's a very open theme so dream away, but please use at least one real stamp... ENJOY!!

TIO #28 Year of the Tiger - Guest Designer

Here we are then... Getting back on track!! TIO #28 is Year of the Tiger and dreamed up by Blackdragon, one of my wonderful regular taggers - and a fellow Dragon!!! Isn't it fabulous!!??

This week, we would like you to dream up your tag on the theme of tiger, either the whole image, or the colours and/or stripes etc etc - for example, I have just been watching the wonderful Joanna Sheen programme and her new Jane Nettley Meyhew disc with that fantastic tiger image ... Please remember to include at least one real stamp in your design. Have fun and please join in to get ME started again (pretty please!!!) and to support the lovely Blackdragon
ENJOY!!

Happy Monday!!

Morning dreamers!!! Well, I am so pleased to announce that we will be up and running again this week because the lovely Blackdragon has volunteered to be a guest designer for me!! I am thrilled that she is willing to do this. Jane has also said she would like to do it, so we will see where we go from here... I so heartened by all the comments I have had on both blogs and by the support I have received. When I signed off for Christmas, I never imagined my layoff would be so long, but here is a way to get back in business!!! Thanks girls.

Next week, for the beginning of March, I will be offering some blogcandy - Another idea from Blackdragon ... why did I not think of that???!!! She is a clever one eh?

So things are looking up here and I hope you will all come and support Lyn with her tag.
Thanks for looking
